"Hi, I'm Andrew, the General Manager for the Somerset countryside. Here in Somerset, we're lucky enough to have an incredible variety of landscapes and places. From Leigh Woods in Bristol and the incredible Bath Skyline, to Exmoor in West Somerset. We're also home to iconic, world-famous natural features like Glastonbury Tor and Cheddar Gorge.

It's a wonderful part of the country, one I'm proud to be a part of. But there's much to do. Our big challenge is to balance conservation work with public access. Yes, we want more and more people to enjoy and get involved with this amazing landscape, but we also want to make sure that we're keeping the land in good condition and we need people to understand and help with that. It's a balancing act – albeit a stimulating, enjoyable one.

That's why we need a Conservation Services Manager who has the confidence and credibility to set the direction for our conservation work. Someone with vision, someone who can inspire everyone around them, colleagues and local communities, and make that vision a reality. Passion's a given. As are great people management skills. And we want a big voice too, someone who can raise our profile and speak up for the great work we're doing here. Now, I appreciate it's a big task, but it's a really big job, at an incredibly exciting time for everyone in the National Trust."
